Side plate or salad plate?

The names overlap. In the UK, the smaller plate next to or on top of the dinner plate is usually called a side plate; in the US it's more often a salad plate. At 20.5 and 22 cm, ours work as either, and for starters, breakfast and dessert too.

Layer them

Small plates look good stacked on a dinner plate. Try a Saint-Tropez Salad Plate on a Basic Large Plate, or mix colors: Étoupe on Vanilla Creme, Baby Blue on Sand. Both side plates are dishwasher and microwave safe, but not oven safe.

The Basic Salad Plate is 22 cm across and the Saint-Tropez Salad Plate is 20.5 cm across.

Can I mix side plates and dinner plates from different collections?

Yes. Basic and Saint-Tropez share the same colors, so a side plate from one collection works on a dinner plate from the other.
